Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW)
Course Information:
This course is tailored to those who require or simply wish to obtain the necessary skills to provide basic first aid both inside and outside of the workplace.
This is a 1-day course designed to give you the essential skills to deal with workplace emergencies until professional help arrives.
Topics covered include:
- Roles and Responsibilities of the First Aider
- Assessing an Incident
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- CPR
- Use of an AED (Defibrillator)
- Choking (Adult)
- Bleeding and Shock
- Minor Injuries
- Burns and Scalds
- Fractures and Sprains
- Medical Emergencies such as Heart Attacks, Stroke, Asthma, Diabetes (Hypo) and Seizures (Epilepsy)
- Recording and Reporting of incidents
What you walk away with:
- Confidence to handle emergencies
- CPR and AED certification
- The ability to keep someone alive until professionals arrive

Course cost and Duration:
This course comes with two options:
- Option A: This is a standalone 1 day course tailored specifically to EFAW and nothing more, taught over 6 hours. Course Start time will be 10:00am finishing at 04:00pm, not too early a start and not too late a finish!
- Option B: This is taken as part of an SIA linked qualification such as a Door Supervisor Course or Security Guard Course, taught on the first day from 08:00am until 12:00pm. This is a basic requirement to continue these courses.
If you are looking to book onto a standalone course this will cost £65 plus VAT per person.
If you are booking this course alongside an SIA linked qualification the cost is £50 per person (VAT will be totalled differently as you'll be purchasing another course too)
